BAGUIO CITY, Philippines -- Given that the City of Pines is a prime tourist destination in the country most likely during holidays, summer, Panagbenga Festivals even all year-round , chain of hotels, motels, inns and transient houses are abundant up there to accommodate flocks of travelers. They are in varieties from high end up to the budget friendly rates.
I was in immense joy when I learned that our stay for our upcoming Baguio Food Tour 2014 will be spent in Azalea Residences. (Big smile!) Well, let us admit that it is becoming hard to find great accommodations in the city with great value. Thus, Azalea Residences definitely is the place to be! It is one of the newest yet finest hotels in Baguio City these days. (#youloveourjob!)
Lies on an inside property along Leonard Wood, Azalea is indeed a hidden gem kept on a solitary spot rustling on unflustered nature. It has all suite residences and is the very first of its kind in the city. It is a complete packaged of homey-like feeling complete with living, dining and kitchen facilities plus the spacious and comfortable bedrooms. It is perfect for families, groups, companies and barkadas who intend to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life and catch a quick break for a reasonable value.
We arrived at the hotel at 8 in the morning. The staff and crew of the hotel warmly welcomed us. Those wide smile is always notice.
Cheers! The hotel staff gave us welcome drinks. This four season flavored juice is just refreshing. Minutes later after the hotel manager met us, we proceeded to our hotel room right away. We were all excited to check the room we will be staying in for the next 2 days.
I was astonished by this high ceiling of the hotel lobby. It made the lobby looks spacious despite the fact that it is only few square meters as I estimated it. And those vine-looking wall decorations enhances the interiors.
Azalea residences is made up of 99 well-maintained suite rooms that offers the following apartment-like facilities; a living room that can transform into another sleeping area because of the sofa bed provided matched with a flat screen LCD TV with cable connection, 2 toilet and bath, one on the master's room and a common one; all those were with hot and cold shower and toiletries; dining table and chairs. Kitchen counter top and sink with kitchen appliances and utensils kept inside the cabinets; bottled water on the ref; coffee and tea making machine.
Two Bedroom Suites
It is our home for that 2-day stay in the Summer Capital.
The idea of living area that can be converted into another sleeping place is something witty that designer did. It maximizes the unit space for more number of users without compromising the aesthetic aspect. Good Job!
Simple yet elegant. That simply describe the suites. I just love the earth-tone color combination of both interior fabric, furniture and fixtures. And that warm white lighting adds drama and seemingly comfortable living.
The suites has its own kitchen and dining area so that the guest can cook for themselves whenever they want to stay in the hotel instead of going outside to look for something to eat. It is money-saving yet adds convenience.
2-bedroom suite's master bedroom with own toilet and Bath.
The smaller bedroom.
Well, white, clean, complete toiletries and water heater, for me, is enough for a good toilet and bathroom. And that huge mirror is just perfect for my vain-narcissistic moment. ;-)
Executive Suites
For well-incomed guests, the hotel has executives suites located at the uppermost floor of the building. We were awed-inspired seeing this unit with its style, design, and arrangement. It's really like a home. It has spacious living area as if you feel like you are in a winter-weather country with its pseudo-fire place.
The suites has 2-level, lower floor which houses the spacious living area, dining area, a kitchen with breakfast nook/counter and a toilet and bath.
At the mezzanine level, there are 3 bedrooms, a master's and 2 others. Those were not a simple bedroom, all are spacious and has its own toilet and bath.
Ughhh!!! I can sleep in the bathroom and stay there longer.
Going up stair to bedrooms. Those shadowed lighting effect adds drama in the interior.
Hallway proceeding to bedrooms.

Each suites has balcony/verandas that offer views of nearby areas. Best time to stay is during morning when cold morning breeze would kiss you and also during dawn while watching the hue painted sky turning into starry night sky and when the city lights started to flicker. Isn't it romantic?! ;-)
As an architect, I always do admire structures with great consideration of energy-saving features like atriums that allow natural daylighting and passive cooling.
That huge picture windows in the facade is just so cool and the high ceiling too! Single-loaded corridors must be a good planning character for a hotel to avoid foot traffic inside.
Who would not get the attention of the architectural style of Azaleas building facade? It is simply eye-catching for its Ski-resort like feature which become a ideal look for a vacation-residence in the Summer Capital.
For special occasions, like honeymoon, the hotel treat their guests with room's perfect mood!

When darkness peek and the surrounding's temperature drops, Azalea Residences turns into a glimmering edifice seemingly hug by millions of fireflies. The serene and calm appeal of her was instantly changed into delightful mood, ecstatic and a place for rendezvous.
